Alaska Hummer Adventures is looking for Captains for our Expedition Black Bear, Misty Fjords Expedition, and Saltwater Expedition tours for the upcoming season!
We are a well-established company that operates several incredibly scenic day trip boating, wildlife viewing, and hiking excursions along the Inside Passage coastline from Ketchikan, AK.

Hours: Full TimeJob Summary:
Navigate Coastal Cruiser (a 30’ Aluminum Chambered Boat) through the Tongass Narrows of Ketchikan, Revillagigedo Island, and the Inside Passage of southern southeast Alaska, while providing an informative tour both on land and water.Responsibilities:
As a captain/guide your main objectives are to ensure safe navigation of the vessel along the southern southeast Alaska coastline tour route, as well as entertain and educate guests concerning neighboring islands and attractions, coastal and marine wildlife, and local flora and fauna. You will also transport guests by van to a remote trailhead and lead an easy hike to wildlife viewing areas.Daily duties include:
- Maintaining boat -stocking with light snacks & beverages, cleaning after each tour,
assisting with routine maintenance ie: fuel, basic repairs, and safety features as required by
the U.S. Coast Guard. - Adhere to special use permit requirements and complete excursion log as required by the U.S.
Forest Service. - Adapt to constantly changing situations and personalities of guests, ensuring quality service to
all guests. Convey a sense of professionalism in both demeanor and appearance. - Meet and greet guests as they disembark their cruise ships.
- Actively participate in selling the boat excursions from designated sales area.
Other Qualifications:
Minimum of a 25 ton Masters license, CPR/First Aid Certification, Marine Radio Operators Permit, & valid driver’s license. Must be able to assist in safety drills and vessel inspections. Must pass a drug test before employment and at random throughout entire season.

We are a well established company that operates several H2 vehicles for tours of the Tongass National Rainforest and Revillagigedo Island.
Alaska Hummer Adventures is seeking energetic, fun, positive, safety conscious & professional staff that work well in a team environment.
Details of the position are as follows:
Title: Driver/Guide
Pay: DOE
Position: Seasonal May through September
Hours: 20-40 hours per week
Age: Must be 21 years of age or olderJob Summary: Guiding small private groups on a four-hour tour of the island in a Hummer H2.
Responsibilities:
Conduct a safe and educational tour of the Ketchikan Area (Tongass National Rainforest, Revillagigedo Island); provide information about the culture, landmarks, local points of interest, historical sites, flora & fauna, and marine and coastal wildlife. As a hummer guide your main objective is to provide a custom designed tour based on the individual needs/interest of the group.Daily duties include:
- Vehicle Inspection- daily check before and after each tour.
- Adhere to special use permit requirements and complete excursion log as required by the U.S.
Forest Service. - Adapt to constantly changing situations and personalities of guests, ensuring quality service to
all guests. Convey a sense of professionalism in both demeanor and appearance. - Meet and greet guests as they disembark their cruise ships.
- Actively participate in selling the Island Hummer Tour from designated sales area.
Other Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record/history and, preferably, have at least 5 years driving experience. Guides are subject to pre-employment drug screening and random screening throughout the season. Non-tobacco user (any tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vaporizers or any similar tobacco-related product) preferred. Must obtain a broad knowledge of Ketchikan and area; as well as the State of Alaska as a whole. Speak clearly, accurately and articulately. Be in good physical condition; able to stand, walk, hike for extended periods.
